Day 2 and we spent the night in Koblenz (althought I think this picture was taken the following day.) You can see why I ran out of film towards the end - this is only the second day! We spent the night at a camp site on the banks of the river where the Rhine and the Mosel join. We then spent the evening, well what was left after cooking a meal, getting drunk with some boy scouts. That sounds a bit odd, pervy even today, but it wasn't. There were some scouts, about our sort of age, I am not sure if they were the leaders of a larger group or just a few on their own, in a tent near us. So we went off to have a drink together and I do not think we intended to get drunk - it was just that after a pint or two we suddenly realised that German beer was stronger than that we had in England. It was good beer too, cold and refreshing.
