It is an interesting reflection of how things have changed that we were surprised by the colourful gentleman in another boat and dubbed him the Kabaka of Buganda. This was for no other reason that his appearance demanded a colourful name - but I doubt his outfit would surprise anyone today. I seem to recall this was where James had a discussion with a man whom he smilingly called the stupidest man in all of Austria - and who, not speaking English, nodded strongly in agreement.
