| Strange - I used to take my
shoes to be repaired here, by an old man as I recall (but anyone over 40 probably looked old then.)
The shop front looks new - but the shop was empty - and the '01' telephone number would have been changed to '081'
in 1990. (And to 0181 in 1995 and to 0208 in 2000!) Maybe the sign has been retained for its historic interest. |
