I suppose if 2 lads were to set off today on a jaunt like this it would have ben assumed we were gay. Of course in 1970 gay meant joyful and fun loving - we just used the q word then. Or maybe the (short) h one. Well there was none of that on this trip - but with hindsight it was probably as well that Bill and Pete joined us as 4 lads would surely not cause an eyebrow to be raised. |
