Apart from my encounter with the wall in Germany, we had very few dramas on the road. Once, in Austria I think, we were puzzled by everyone who was coming towards us flashing their headlights. After a long discussion we stopped to have a look - and discovered the roof rack and tent (and most of our worldly goods) were almost off the car. If we had lost them the trip would probably have been over.
