James counting his money. One of the hazards of visiting so many countries was the need to keep changing currency - this was long before the days of the Euro. I still have somewhere a tin containing all the change I had left - this included a Hungarian note which had a UK value of 2/6d (12½p to any youngsters reading this.) The smallest note in Britain then was £1 and so we scoffed at these tatty, crumpled notes - we also left one as a tip for an irritating barman on the ferry going home.
