Incidentally, the box James is counting on was the box of spare car parts we took with us. In those days cars were very much products of their country, especially as we drove on the left in Britain, so we took with us a rented box of spare parts, a set of gaskets and an emergency windscreen. We had AA 5 star insurance to put them where they were needed if this became necessary. Fortunately this did not arise and so we took them back, unopened, and got our deposit back.
